Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards 2022-23 Announced

Current Context: The Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for the years 2022 and 2023 were recently announced. The President of India presented these prestigious awards to distinguished performing artists.

• The ceremony took place on March 6th, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
• In addition to the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards, the President also conferred the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship (Akademi Ratna) upon six exceptional artists in recognition of their lifelong contributions to the performing arts.

• D.P. Sinha (Uttar Pradesh) – Indian Theatre
• The Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards have celebrated the pinnacle of achievement in performing arts since 1952.
• The Akademi Fellowship is the highest honour bestowed by the Akademi for extraordinary contributions to performing arts.
