Current Context: The 77th World Health Assembly was held in Geneva, Switzerland from 27 May to 1 June 2024.

• The theme of the assembly was “All for Health, Health for All”.
• Delegates approved a four-year, US$ 11.1 billion strategy for global health known as the Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW 14).
• GPW 14 aims to build resilient, fit-for-future health systems from 2025–2028.
• Strategic objectives of GPW 14 include addressing climate change, health determinants, primary health care, health service coverage, health risks, and health emergencies.
• The assembly was opened by Dr Edwin Dikoloti of Botswana, the elected President of the Health Assembly.
