Current Context: On June 3, 2024, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, India, signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for industry-academia collaboration at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi.

  • Nokia: The MoU with Nokia focuses on research in the domain of 5G/6G communications targeting air, land, and sea transportation use cases including Standards development, Smart Factory/Automation, AI/GenAI Labs.
  • Plasser India: The MoU with Plasser India will provide opportunities to collaborate in the area of Track technology, promote industry experience and training for members of each party, explore joint research opportunities in the transport and rail sector, and provide internship and placement opportunities for the students of GSV.
  • Jacobs: The MoU with Jacobs aims to enhance advancement in the field of research, teaching, and training activities of transport, rail, and the semiconductor sector. It includes establishing centers of excellence in semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, and railways, including the development of laboratories.
  • Impact: These collaborations are expected to create significant employment opportunities and contribute to the growth of the transportation & logistics sector as well as the telecommunication sector.
