NFDC & Netflix India signed MoU to Launch ‘The Voicebox’, Upskilling Program for Indian

Current Context: On July 18, 2024, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB), signed a MoU with Netflix in New Delhi, India to launch an upskilling program for voice-over artists in India called “The Voicebox”.

  • This program aims to enhance voice-over skills and offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training in languages such as English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Gujarati.
  • Structured workshops, guest lectures, mentoring sessions, and assessments will be conducted in seven major Indian cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi.
  • Each batch accommodates up to 30 candidates, with at least 50% women participants
  • Additionally, seven top participants from each batch will contribute to Netflix’s special project, “Azaadi ki Amrit Kahaniya”, narrating stories related to the Indian independence movement.
