NTH & BEE Sign MoU to Promote Energy Efficiency Across India

Current Context: The National Test House (NTH) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 3, 2024, in New Delhi to promote energy efficiency across India.

  • The MoU aims to strengthen India’s Standards & Labeling (S&L) Program, with NTH designated as the referral laboratory for BEE to resolve technical disputes related to test results.
  • The MoU was signed by BEE Secretary Milind Deore and NTH Director General Alok Kumar Srivastava, and witnessed by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, and Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
  • NTH will provide training for BEE officers and review existing S&L Program procedures to ensure the accuracy of star labels and prevent misuse by manufacturers.
