Current Context: The 15th World Archery Para Championships 2025 were held in Gwangju, South Korea from 22–28 September 2025, with 239 athletes from 47 nations competing.

  • India finished 2nd in the medal tally with 5 medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze), behind China which topped with 12 medals.
  • Sheetal Devi made history as the first armless woman archer to win a world title, clinching gold in the Women’s Compound Individual.
  • She also added a silver in the Women’s Compound Team event with Sarita Adhana, and a bronze in the Compound Mixed Team with Toman Kumar.
  • Toman Kumar won gold in the Men’s Compound Individual, defeating compatriot Rakesh Kumar in an all-Indian final.
  • Rakesh Kumar had to settle for silver after an equipment issue forced him to withdraw mid-final.
  • In total, India’s medal haul stood at 2 Gold (Sheetal Devi, Toman Kumar), 2 Silver (Rakesh Kumar, Sheetal–Sarita team), and 1 Bronze (Sheetal–Toman mixed team).
