  • On 8 October 2025, the Maharashtra Government announced that the Navi Mumbai International Airport will be renamed as Loknete DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport. The decision honours DB Patil (1926–2012), a farmer leader and activist remembered for championing the rights of project-affected people in Navi Mumbai and Raigad.

  • The Tamil Nadu Government, in partnership with Borussia Dortmund, announced on 3 October 2025 the launch of India’s first Sports Tech Incubation Centre. The MoU will be signed at the Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit in Coimbatore later in October. The aim is to foster sports‑tech startups, linking Tamil Nadu’s ecosystem with the global sports economy.
  • Chhattisgarh’s Balod district has been officially declared India’s first child marriage-free district on 1 October 2025 under the ‘Child Marriage-Free India’ campaign launched by PM Narendra Modi in August 2024. The recognition came after two consecutive years of zero reported cases, with all 436 gram panchayats and 9 urban bodies certified as child marriage-free.
  • On 3 October 2025, the Maharashtra Government launched the E-Bond system for import and export transactions, replacing the traditional ₹500 paper stamp bonds. The initiative makes Maharashtra the 16th state to adopt digital bonds, enabling online issuance, e-signature, and real-time verification. Nearly 50,000 bonds issued annually will now be processed digitally, improving efficiency and transparency.
  • On 4 Oct 2025, PM Narendra Modi launched youth-focused initiatives worth ₹62,000+ crore at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Key scheme: PM-SETU (₹60,000 cr) to upgrade 1,000 ITIs in a hub-and-spoke model with industry partnership. He also inaugurated 1,200 skill labs across schools in 34 States/UTs. For Bihar, he launched Karpoori Thakur Skill University, revamped Nishchay Yojana, and interest-free Student Credit Card Scheme.
  • Rajasthan’s first ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’, also called ‘Namo Van’, was inaugurated on 5 October 2025 at Pratap Bandh, Alwar by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. The park is envisioned as a “green lung” for the region, aimed at improving air quality, enhancing greenery, and restoring ecological balance.
  • On 4 October 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched Goa’s flagship housing reform ‘Mhaje Ghar Yojana’ at Taleigao, aimed at granting ownership rights to nearly 11 lakh Goans by regularising houses built on government, community, and forest lands under various Acts. Alongside the scheme, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 21 development projects worth ₹2,452 crore.
  • On 2 Oct 2025, the BRO constructed the world’s highest motorable road at Mig La Pass (19,400 ft) in Eastern Ladakh. It surpasses Umling La (19,024 ft) and connects Hanle to Fukche under the Likaru–Mig La–Fukche alignment. The road holds strategic, civilian, and tourism significance, ensuring year-round connectivity near the LAC.
  • On 5 Oct 2025, Amit Shah inaugurated India’s first cooperative-run CBG & potash granule project at Kopargaon, Maharashtra. The unit at Shankarrao Kolhe Cooperative Sugar Factory will produce 12T CBG & 75T potash daily. It promotes a circular economy, boosts farmers’ income, and reduces import dependence. The model will be replicated in 15 cooperative sugar factories nationwide with NCDC support.
Banking:
  • On 3 Oct 2025, RBI imposed penalties on American Express Banking Corp (₹31.80 lakh) and HDB Financial Services (₹4.20 lakh). American Express violated Credit/Debit Card Directions, 2022 by not reversing certain credit balances. HDB Financial Services failed to comply with KYC norms by not obtaining PAN/e-documents/Form 60 for some loan accounts.
  • On 1 Oct 2025, the RBI announced measures to support exporters amid global trade uncertainties. Forex outlay for Merchanting Trade Transactions (MTT) extended to 6 months, and repatriation from IFSC (International Financial Services Centre) accounts extended to 3 months. Bills up to ₹10 lakh can be reconciled via self‑declaration in EDPMS (Export Data Processing and Monitoring System) and IDPMS (Import Data Processing and Monitoring System).

  • The 2nd National Conference & Exhibition on CSR (NCCSR 2025) was held on 6–7 October 2025 at The Ashoka, New Delhi, organised by IICA under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs with MoTA, MoDoNER, and DPE. It was chaired by Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union MoS (Independent Charge). The theme was “Leveraging CSR Excellence for Tribal Development.” Aim: To showcase CSR best practices, foster collaboration, and align CSR with national priorities for tribal empowerment.

  • On 4 Oct 2025, the Indian Coast Guard commissioned ICGS Akshar at Karaikal, Puducherry. It is the second Adamya-class FPV, built by Goa Shipyard Ltd. with 60% indigenous content. The 51m vessel has a top speed of 27 knots, endurance of 1,500 nm, and is armed with a 30 mm gun & SRCGs.
  • On 6 Oct 2025, the Indian Navy commissioned INS Androth, the second ASW Shallow Water Craft, at Visakhapatnam. Built by GRSE Kolkata with 80% indigenous content, it is designed for anti-submarine warfare in shallow waters. The 77m vessel (1,500 tonnes) uses waterjet propulsion and advanced sensors & weapons.

  • On 1 Oct 2025 (NPS Diwas), Zomato and HDFC Pension launched the ‘NPS Platform Workers Model’ for delivery partners. The scheme, unveiled by FM Nirmala Sitharaman at a PFRDA event in New Delhi, provides gig workers access to formal retirement benefits. Over 30,000 delivery partners generated their PRANs within 72 hours; target is 1 lakh+ by end-2025.
