  • On 28 January 2026, NITI Aayog launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 in New Delhi to boost development in Aspirational Districts and Blocks. The campaign runs for three months (28 Jan–14 Apr 2026), aiming for 100% saturation of key social indicators in health, nutrition, education, and infrastructure. It covers 112 Aspirational Districts (5 KPIs) and 513 Aspirational Blocks (6 KPIs) with mission-mode monitoring.

  • The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi signed a landmark MoU with the Centre for Ayurveda Education, Innovation & Technology (CAYEIT) on January 27, 2026 at the Brihaspati Dev Triguna Auditorium, AIIA campus. The aim was to strengthen Ayurveda education, research, innovation, and technology transfer, with special focus on digital tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • On 29 January 2026, IIM Ahmedabad signed an MoU to establish the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence at its campus. Funded by a ₹100 crore endowment from philanthropists Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon and Ranjan Tandon, the school aims to promote responsible AI research and India-centric applications.
  • On 27 January 2026, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) signed a landmark MoU at the Advanced Training Institute, Goa, during India Energy Week 2026. The pact focuses on resource pooling to transform deepwater projects, especially in the Krishna-Godavari Basin and Andaman offshore.
  • On 28 January 2026, the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) and QNu Labs Pvt. Ltd. signed a strategic MoU in New Delhi at the Ministry of Electronics & IT. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Union MoS Jitin Prasada and MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan. Its aim is to deploy indigenous, quantum-resilient cybersecurity solutions across India’s critical digital infrastructure, protecting against “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” quantum threats.

  • On 28 January 2026, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary announced India’s first AI-enabled State University pilot at Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, during Google’s AI for Learning Forum in New Delhi. The initiative, a collaboration between MSDE, Google Cloud, and CCSU, aims to build a “Living Laboratory” for integrating AI into higher education and vocational training.

  • On 28 January 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) constituted a High-Level Committee to strengthen Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Tamil Nadu. It was chaired by a senior MoA&FW official under the guidance of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Members include NABARD, NAFED, SFAC-TN, ICAR-NRCB, and representatives of FPOs, NGOs, and state officials.

  • On 30 January 2026, India observed Martyrs’ Day, marking Mahatma Gandhi’s 78th death anniversary. At Raj Ghat, New Delhi, President Murmu and PM Modi led tributes, followed by a two-minute nationwide silence at 11:00 AM.
