- In Phase I, AI will be integrated into the Computer Science curriculum for Classes 8 to 12. Phase II will extend age-appropriate AI education to students from Classes 1 to 7.
- Students will learn through live and recorded classes, project-based activities, continuous assessments and a dedicated Learning Management System.
- The initiative is expected to eventually cover around 31.5 lakh students across 25,172 schools. Approximately 12,424 Computer Science teachers will lead the first phase, while broader teacher training will follow.
- The curriculum draws on international practices and is aligned with UNESCO principles for the safe, responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence.
- Students will be introduced to AI literacy, problem-solving, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital responsibility and the ethical risks associated with emerging technologies.
- The main purpose is to prepare Punjab’s students for technology-based careers and help them become creators of AI solutions rather than only users of AI tools.
