National Campaign on Entrepreneurship-II Launched for Rural Women

Current Context: The Ministry of Rural Development launched the National Campaign on Entrepreneurship-II on 21 August 2026 under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). The three-month campaign will run until 21 November 2026 and aims to strengthen entrepreneurship among rural women.
  • The campaign focuses on helping Self-Help Group (SHG) women build sustainable businesses in both farm and non-farm sectors.
  • It supports the government’s goal of creating 6 crore Lakhpati Didis.
  • Around 5 lakh SHG women are targeted for entrepreneurship and livelihood training.
  • The campaign will support 50,000 enterprises in formalisation and business development.
  • It also aims to bring 25,000 SHG members onto e-commerce platforms such as ONDC and GeM.
  • The government also released Sankalp Shakti, a monthly Rural Enterprise Technical Bulletin focused on women entrepreneurs and Lakhpati Didis.
