Tamil Nadu Government has launched bi-lingual Uzhavan App that will allow the farmers to have access to nine types of services, including details about their crop insurance.
- The app can be downloaded from Google Playstore.
- The farmers to get information on farm subsidies, book farm equipment and related infrastructure and get details on their crop insurance.
- It also shows weather forecast for the next four days
- It includes information on the available stocks of seeds and fertilisers in local government and private stores
Other schemes launched
- Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the CM of Tamil Nadu also launched the ‘Amma Bio-Fertiliser’ scheme, named after late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to provide better management of natural farming, and help boost and maintain soil fertility.
- Farming machinery and equipment worth Rs14.10 crore, including 50 tractors procured by the government, that can be rented at low rates by farmers were launched
- He also inaugurated an environmental park, constructed at Kanniyakumari at a cost of Rs. 4 crores.
