  • External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from India and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defence, Mark Esper from the US will hold 2 Plus 2 ministerial dialogue in Washington on 18th Dec 19 to exchange views on regional and global issues.
  • Classical music festival ‘Tansen Samaroh’ has been started in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on 17th Dec 19. The festival is celebrated every year in the memory of singer ‘Mian Tansen’ and is organised by Ustad Alauddin Khan Kala Evam Sangeet Academy, under the Madhya Pradesh culture department. Vocalist Pandit Vidyadhar Vyas has been chosen for the National Tansen Award for 2019.

  • India Women’s Cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana is named in both the International Cricket Council's ODI and T20 teams of the year. Jhulan Goswami, Poonam Yadav and Shikha Pandey are also named in the ODI team of the year while all-rounder Deepti Sharma in the T20 side. Australia's Alyssa Healy was chosen as the T20 cricketer of the year and Australia's Ellyse Perry was chosen as the ODI cricketer of the year.
  • Union Minister of Home Affairs Shri Amit Shah laid down the foundation stone of Bharat Vandana Park at New Delhi on 17th Dec 19. The idea is to make the park a major tourist attraction of the country.
  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $250 million loan agreement on 16th December 2019 to Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a public sector energy service company to expand energy efficiency investments in India that will benefit agricultural, residential and institutional consumers.
