  • Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand lifted the Indonesia Badminton Masters 2020 women's singles title after defeating Carolina Marin of Spain. The Master's tournament happened in Jakarta on 19th January 2020.
  • Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, organized the ‘Fit India Cyclothon’ event in Panaji, Goa. The aim of the cyclotron is to get the people involved in outdoor activities and starting a cycling culture in the state.

  • The 9th International Children's Film Festival began in Kolkata on 19th January 2020. About 250 films from 45 countries will be screened at the festival.
  • Puducherry chief minister Narayanasamy launched the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme in the union territory on the National immunization day on 19th January 2020.
  • National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme has begun in Puducherry on 19th January 2020. The programme is being jointly organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and Puducherry Government. The programme is launched with a view to ensuring the development and empowerment of the tribal youths.
