  • As per the TomTom (TOM2) Traffic Index report, detailing the traffic situation in 416 cities in 57 countries, Bengaluru has topped the list being the 'most traffic-congested city' in the world.
  • The Reserve Bank of India has, by an order dated January 29, 2020, imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on HDFC Bank for non-compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.

  • European Parliament has voted 621 to 49 to approve the Brexit deal with London, clearing the final hurdle for Britain's departure from the EU. The UK will remain within the EU's economic arrangements until the end of the year.
  • Lt Gen Satinder Kumar Saini assumed the charge of Vice Chief of the Army Staff on 28th Jan 2020. He was heading the Southern Command of the Indian Army before assuming the office.
  • The Union Cabinet has approved the amendments in the National Commission for Homoeopathy Bill, 2019 that will amend the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 to promote the availability of affordable healthcare services in all parts of the country.
