- The birth anniversary of the social reformer Savitribai Phule is being observed on 3rd Jan 2020. She dedicated her life for social unity, education and women empowerment and made struggles for social consciousness.
- Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been appointed the new chancellor of Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland. She will serve as chancellor for a five-year term.
