  • Kolkata Police will start the third edition of its 'Sukanya' project on 6th Jan 2020, to provide girls studying in schools and colleges in the city with self-defence training. Sukanya is an initiative of the Kolkata Police's Community Policing Wing and is funded by Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department of the state government.
  • The Women Science Congress was inaugurated at the ongoing Indian Science Congress in Bengaluru on 5th Jan 2020 and Dr.Tessy Thomas (DRDO Aeronautical Systems Director General) who is known as the Missile Woman of India was the chief guest at the occasion.
