Current Context: The first helicopter service by Pawan Hans under the UDAN-RCS scheme was launched in Uttarakhand by Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS I/C, Civil Aviation.
First UDAN-RCS Heli Service in Uttarakhand
  • The UDAN-RCS Heli service in Uttarakhand will provide aerial connectivity and mobility between Dehradun, New Tehri, Srinagar and Gauchar.
  • This aerial connectivity service will connect hilly regions of Uttarakhand
  • The distance will be covered in an average time of 20-25 minutes and will prove as an assistance to Char Dham Yatra Pilgrims
  • To have the affordable travel charges, Viability Gap Funding (VGF) will be offered to the passengers as well as operators under the UDAN Scheme
  • The fare charges of these routes is Rs 2900/ seat

  • UDAN Scheme: It stands for Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik. The scheme aims to provide aerial connectivity to the people at affordable prices and to develop the infrastructure at regional airports. The scheme comes under Ministry of Civil Aviation.
