Current Context: The first helicopter service by Pawan Hans under the UDAN-RCS scheme was launched in Uttarakhand by Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS I/C, Civil Aviation.
- The UDAN-RCS Heli service in Uttarakhand will provide aerial connectivity and mobility between Dehradun, New Tehri, Srinagar and Gauchar.
- This aerial connectivity service will connect hilly regions of Uttarakhand
- The distance will be covered in an average time of 20-25 minutes and will prove as an assistance to Char Dham Yatra Pilgrims
- To have the affordable travel charges, Viability Gap Funding (VGF) will be offered to the passengers as well as operators under the UDAN Scheme
- The fare charges of these routes is Rs 2900/ seat
