• The Venkatraipur and Nolisahi, are the two coastal villages in Odisha, which have received recognition as ‘Tsunami Ready’ from UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation). Thus Odisha has become the first state in India and also India has become the first country in the Indian Ocean Region to receive this tag from UNESCO.
