Current Context: The virtual Indo Japan Business Forum was organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
- The forum was addressed by Karnataka CM B. S. Yediyurappa.
- The Karnataka CM announced to set up 519 acres Japanese Industrial Township at Vasanthanarasapura near Tumakuru. This township will allow Japanese investment in Karnataka.
- In order to boost investment in the electronics manufacturing sector, CM announced a 25% capital investment subsidy on land.
- In this forum, the CM signed Japan India Startup Initiative in order to enhance the startups in the state.
- The state government has also taken various steps to set a single window for investors, framing of stable and simplified labour laws in order to create investment and boost employment.
- Also, the state has decided to set up ‘Karnataka Innovation Authority’ and has launched New industrial Policy 2020-25.
