Current Context: Government of West Bengal launched ‘Pathashree Abhijan’ Scheme. 
‘Pathashree Abhijan’ Scheme— West Bengal
  • Pathashree Abhijan’ Scheme is the road repair scheme.
  • This scheme will conduct road repair activities for more than 7000 stretches of roads comprising 12,000 km in the state.
  • A fund of Rs 500 crores has been sanctioned for ‘Pathashree Abhijan’ Scheme. 
  • The state government has set a deadline of Dec-Jan 2021 to complete the repair activates of the roads under this scheme. 
  • The list of roads which will be repaired under this scheme are collected with the help of ‘Didi Ke Bolo’ initiative of state government, which was launched in 2019 to address public grievances.
