Current Context: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) signed MoU with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to corporately work to attain
MoRTH Signed MoU with DRDO
sustainable geo-hazard management.
  • Under this MoU, both entities will collaboratively work to exchange technical data for sustainable geo-hazard management.
  • They will work to monitor and supervise mitigation measures, investigate geohazards and avalanches and accordingly formulate measures to mitigate geo-hazards on national highways.
  • This will help to increase safety against the adverse effects of landslides and natural calamities on the national highways of India.
  • Under this MoU, expert solutions will be provided by DRDO and accordingly maintenance and development of National Highways will be performed by MoRTH.
