SIDBI signed MoU with Andhra Pradesh Gov.

Current Context: The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has signed an MoU with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the development of the MSME ecosystem in the state.

• Under this MoU, a Project Management Unit (PMU) will be set up by SIDBI.
• The PMU will help to frame schemes and programmes to uplift the MSME ecosystem in the state.
• The schemes and programmes will be in areas like equity support, interest subvention, resolution of stressed MSMEs, supporting MSME entrepreneurs and facilitate other need-based intervention.
• The PMU will also analyse the current status of various schemes and programmes which are framed to uplift MSMEs and will accordingly make modifications if required.
• SIDBI has set up an expert agency for setting up PMU in 11 Indian states.
