Current Context: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released its biannual World Economic Outlook report.
India’s GDP to Grow to 12.5% for FY22-- IMF
  • As per the report, India’s GDP will grow to 12.5% for FY2021-22.
  • Initially, IMF had projected India’s growth at 11.5% for FY22.
  • Also, for FY23, India’s growth forecast is projected to 6.9% with the initial was 6.8%.
  • As per the report, the global economy will grow to 6% in 2021 and 4.4% in 2022, against the contraction of 3.3% in 2020.
