- The CM of Chhattisgarh launched Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme. The scheme aims to protect the environment and raise the income source for farmers, forest management communities and panchayats. The scheme will also raise plantation on private lands and will thus improve the environmental beauty of the state. The scheme linked to the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The farmers who have taken paddy crop in Kharif year 2020, if they plant trees in their fields instead of paddy crop, will be given incentive at the rate of Rs 10,000 rupees per acre per year for the next 3 years.
