- The following are the initiatives or schemes:
- Oxy Van (Oxygen Forest) in Panchkula: Under this, Oxy Van has identified pieces of land on which 3 crore trees would be planted. The Oxy Vans will occupy 10% of the 8 lakh hectares of land of the state. The Oxy Van, Panchkula, will be established in Bir Ghaggar over an area of 100 acres with a total cost of Rs 1 crore.
- Oxy Van (Oxygen Forest) in Karnal: It will come along the Old Badshahi Canal with an area of 80 acres. It will be comprised of Chit Van (Forest of Beauty), Paakhi Van (Forest of Birds), Antriksh Van (Forest of Zodiac Signs), Tapo Van (Forest of Meditation), Arogya Van (Healing/herbal Forest), Neer Van (Forest of Waterfalls), Rishi Van (Sapt Rishi), Panchvati (Five Trees), Smaran Van (Forest of Memories), and Sugandh Suvaas/Sugandh Van (Forest of Fragrance). The total project will cost Rs 5 crore. It will be established jointly by the state’s forest department, GOI and the Municipal Committee of Karnal.
- Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme (PVDPS): Under this scheme, Rs 2500 will be provided in name of Pran Vayu Devta for maintaining the trees above 75 years. The pension amount will increase every year on the line of old age Samman pension.
