Current Context: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced to launch of the 'Koita Centre for Digital Health' (KCDH).

  • The centre will be launched under the aegis of the Koita Foundation.
  • The KCDH will be responsible to manage academic programmes, research and industry collaboration in the Digital Health sector.
  • Its research area will be associated with clinical applications (including electronic patient records and medical imaging), healthcare data management (including healthcare data privacy and security), healthcare analytics, healthcare AI/ML, consumer health, public health and public policy.
  • The centre will grant minor, dual degree, Masters and PhD programs in Healthcare Informatics subject.
  • Thus the KCDH will prove beneficial to address the healthcare challenges, particularly are exposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
