Current Context: The government of Delhi launched ‘Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana’.
‘Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana’
  • The yojana aims to grant financial assistance to the families who lost a member due to Coronavirus.
  • Under the scheme Rs, 50,000 ex-gratia will be given to such families along with additional Rs 2,500 per month if the deceased was the sole breadwinner.
  • Also the CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal assured to provide free education and financial assistance to children who have lost one or both parents.
  • Also, the government will consider a single member of the affected family to be enrolled as a civil defence volunteer.
  • There is no income criterion to apply to get ex-gratia under this scheme, but the deceased and dependant must be from Delhi.
