• The GOI has decided to set up a National Research Foundation (NRF) and the announcement for the same was made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The NRF will help to enhance research activity in the country and will be a medium of connectivity between R&D, academia and industry. To set up NRF, the GOI will grant Rs 50,000 crore for a tenure of 5 years.
• The Indore city of Madhya Pradesh has been taken as the only city from India for International Clean Air Catalyst Programme. It is the new flagship programme launched by USAID, World Resource Institute (WRI) and Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). The project will be executed for 5 years to have clean air solutions in low and medium-income nations.
• The co-lending agreement was signed between Yes Bank and Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited to offer home loans to homebuyers at competitive interest rates. Both entities will jointly work to offer a seamless experience to retail home loan customers.
