Current Context: The Punjab cabinet has given the approval to launch the ‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan (MKMM)’ Scheme.
‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan’ Scheme-- Punjab
  • The MKMM scheme aims to support unemployed youth in refining their skill sets.
  • The scheme will help them to enhance their employability skills so that they can earn for their life.
  • The free short-term skill training will be given to the unemployed youth.
  • The cabinet has decided to launch the scheme from the current fiscal on a pilot basis for construction workers and their wards.
  • Around 30,000 beneficiaries will be benefited from the scheme. The funds of Rs 90 crore will be sanctioned for the scheme.
  • The scheme will offer an employment assistance allowance of Rs 2,500 per month for 12 months from the start of the training course under short-term skill training programs in the Punjab Skill Development Mission training centers.
  • The scheme will soon be extended to other sections of the society in the state.
