‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan’ Scheme-- Punjab

Current Context: The Punjab cabinet has given the approval to launch the ‘Mera Kaam Mera Maan (MKMM)’ Scheme.

The MKMM scheme aims to support unemployed youth in refining their skill sets.
The scheme will help them to enhance their employability skills so that they can earn for their life.
The free short-term skill training will be given to the unemployed youth.
The cabinet has decided to launch the scheme from the current fiscal on a pilot basis for construction workers and their wards.
Around 30,000 beneficiaries will be benefited from the scheme. The funds of Rs 90 crore will be sanctioned for the scheme.
The scheme will offer an employment assistance allowance of Rs 2,500 per month for 12 months from the start of the training course under short-term skill training programs in the Punjab Skill Development Mission training centers.
The scheme will soon be extended to other sections of the society in the state.
