NER District SDG Index Report

Current Context: India’s premier policy think tank entity, NITI Aayog released North Eastern Region (NER) District SDG Index Report 2021-22 in partnership with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (M/DoNER).

• The report was framed with technical support from UNDP and is based on NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index.
• The index was framed by measuring the performance of the districts of the eight states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura in attaining Sustainable Development Goals and other targets.
• The index took the analysis of 103 districts of eight NE states.
• East Sikkim has topped the NER SDG Index 2021-22 with a score of Score 75.87.
• The second position is marked by Gomati and North Tripura.
• The Kiphire district of Nagaland was ranked at the bottom position.
