Current Context: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the appointment of chief justices to eight high courts.

• 5 Chief Justices are transferred. These are:
• Justice A.A. Kureshi: He is transferred to Rajasthan High Court.
• Justice Indrajit Mahanty: He is transferred to Tripura High Court
• Justice Mohammad Rafiq: He is transferred to Himachal Pradesh High Court
• Justice Biswanath Somadder: He is transferred to Sikkim High Court
• Justice A.K. Goswami: He is transferred to Chhattisgarh High Court.
• 8 new Chief Justices were appointed. These are:
• Justice Rajesh Bindal: He was appointed as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.
• Justice Ranjit V. More: He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
• Justice Satish Chandra Sharma: He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
