‘SWADESH’

Current Context: The Union Minister of State (IC) for the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, inaugurated ‘SWADESH’.

• The ‘SWADESH’ is a first of its kind large-scale multimodal neuroimaging database designed for Indians.
• It is a unique brain initiative which is developed by DBT-National Brain Research Centre (DBT-NBRC), Gurgaon, Haryana.
• Various clinical research tools are developed through SWADESH by DBT-NBRC.
• The ‘SWADESH’ platform brings big-data architecture and analytics for various neurological diseases under a single platform so that researchers will be able to conduct multimodal brain studies. The studies through this platform will enable the researchers to manage Alzheimer’s disease and several neurological disorders.
• The ‘SWADESH’ is supported by a JAVA-based workflow environment and Python computer languages.
