Current Context: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various developmental projects for Goa.
PM Modi launched Projects worth Rs 650 cr. for Goa
  • The projects worth Rs 650 crores were inaugurated by PM Modi on the account of Goa Liberation Day.
  • While inaugurating, he also felicitated freedom fighters and veterans of ‘Operation Vijay’.
  • Under these funds, redevelopment of Aguada Fort Jail Museum will take place. It will cost Rs 28 crore.
  • He inaugurated a super specialty block at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, which was constructed with the funds of Rs 380 crores.
  • The New South Goa District Hospital, built at a cost of Rs 220 crore was also inaugurated.
  • The Aviation Skill Development Centre which will be at Mopa Airport was also inaugurated. It is built at the cost of Rs 8.5 crore.
  • The gas-insulated substation at Davorlim-Navelim, Margao, was also inaugurated which was constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crores.
  • He laid the foundation stone for the India International University of Legal Education and Research of Bar Council of India Trust.
