Current Context: HDFC Parivartan signed a deal worth Rs 107 crore with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru.

  • HDFC Parivartan bank's CSR arm signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Science pledging Rs 107.76 cr for the construction of Bagchi-Parthasarathy hospital at IISc.
  • The bank will support the cardiology, radiology, and emergency medicine wing of the hospital.
  • IISc Bengaluru will set up a not-for-profit, 832-bed hospital called Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital along with PG medical school within its campus.
  • The hospital will be operational by the end of 2024 and the first batch of MD/Ph.D. students will be inducted in the year 2025.
  • This is the first time HDFC bank has partnered with IISc with an aim to improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.
