NHPC signs MoU to develop two hydro projects in Nepal
  • The National Hydro Electric Power Corporation of India (NHPC) signed a pact with Investment Board Nepal (IBN) to develop 750 MW West Seti and 450 MW SR-6 hydroelectric projects in Nepal.
  • The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchanged on August 18,2022 by A K Singh, CMD of NHPC, and Sushil Bhatta, Chief Executive Officer IBN at Kathmandu. Sher Bahadur Dueba, Prime Minister of Nepal was also present on the occasion.
  • NHPC which was established in 1975 is India's leading hydropower development organization. It is a government of India schedule an enterprise with Miniratna status.
  • The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) is a government of Nepal institution which attracts and facilitates private investments including foreign direct investment (FDI) and managing Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Nepal. IBN was established in 2011 and is chaired by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Dueba.
