  • The national flag is prepared by women of Mission Shakti. This move by the government to provide a national flag free of cost to people is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence.
  • Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government of India initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence. For preparing 30 lakh flags, the government has provided financial support to women of Mission Shakti.
  • Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on March 12,2021, which started a 75-week count down to the 75th anniversary of independence and will end on August 15, 2023.
  • The government has started a campaign Har Ghar Tiranga which is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which will be held from August 13 to 15 to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. Har Ghar Tiranga campaign encourages people to hoist the national flag at their homes.
