    • 7.3% percent of India’s population owns digital currency, according to the U.N., which said that the use of cryptocurrency rose globally at an unprecedented rate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ukraine topped the list with 12.7%, followed by Russia (11.9%), Venezuela (10.3%), Singapore (9.4%), Kenya (8.5%), and the U.S. (8.3%).

    • Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a program organized at Uttarakhand Sadan in New Delhi.
    • The Kerala government will launch a mobile app wherein people can upload original bills and also stand to win prizes. The state government expects the 'Lucky Bill App' to help in increasing tax collections as people will be encouraged to ask for bills while purchasing goods and availing services.
    • Adani group will invest $5.2 billion to set up an aluminia refinery in Odisha. Adani Enterprises Ltd. got approval to build a refinery and a captive power plant with an investment of $5.2 billion (416.53 billion rupees). The annual capacity of the refinery will be 4 million tons.

    • Jagdeep Dhankhar takes oath as 14th Vice President of India. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Jagdeep Dhankhar at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu were present at the ceremony. Jagdeep Dhankhar won 528 votes against Margaret Alva to become the Vice President of India. He is also ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

    • 18th edition of Tata Mumbai Marathon to be held in January 2023. The marathon will be flagged off from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. IDFC First bank will be part of the marathon for the first time.

    • India becomes the seventh highest country in digital currency ownership according to UN trade and development body UNCTAD(United Nations Conference on Trade and Development). About 7.3% Indian population owns assets in the form of digital currency. Ukraine topped the list with 12.7 percent followed by Russia(11.9 percent), and Venezuela (10.3 percent).

    • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully completed a test firing of the Low Altitude Escape Motor (LEM) of the Gaganyaan mission from Sriharikota spaceport. The crew escape system takes away the crew module of the Gaganyaan mission in case of any eventuality and rescues the astronauts.
    • The Indian Space and Research Organisation has unveiled a virtual space tech called 'Spark' as part of the celebrations of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorating India's 75th year of Independence.

    • Trade receivables discounting platform M1xchange has tied up with HDFC Bank with an aim to provide more liquidity to small businesses at competitive interest rates.     • Former Member of Parliament and senior All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) politician K. Maya Thevar passed away due to age-related illness at his residence in Chinnalapatti near Dindigul. He was 87.
