- MoU was signed between Walmart and Flipkart with Assam's Industries & Commerce and Public Enterprises Department and also the Public Health Engineering, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship and Tourism department to help local MSMEs expand their business.
- Through this tripartite agreement, MSMEs get help from Walmart and Flipkart to digitize their operations and expand their reach across India.
- MSMEs can also expand their export capacity and join the global supply chain of Walmart. With Walmart Vriddhi program will benefit MSMEs to not just compete in the domestic market but also get connected to export destinations globally.
- Walmart Vriddhi Development Program through its partnership with non-governmental organization Swasti provide small business with training and knowledge to grow their business online. This program was launched in 2019 for supporting 50,000 Indian MSMEs with the skills required to become Walmart suppliers and Flipkart sellers and other marketplaces.
- Earlier Walmart and Flipkart had a similar tie-up with the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Tamil Nadu.
