World Cotton Day is observed on October 7
  • 7th October 2022 marks the observance of the 4th World Cotton Day.
  • The theme for this year is, “Weaving a better future for cotton”.
  • FAO has given the theme for this year.
  • It is observed to show the positive impact on cotton and to raise awareness about cotton-related products.
  • It was launched in Geneva at the World Trade Organisation in 2019.
  • It was in collaboration with ITC (International Trade Centre), ICAC(International Cotton Advisory Committee), and UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development).
  • Static Part- International Cotton Advisory Committee was established in 1939 and is headquartered in Washington D.C.
