    • Mumtaz Khan: She has won the Rising Star of the year 2021-22 award from the Federation Internationale de Hockey (FIH).

    • Roxy Mathew Koll, a scientist at the Pune-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), received the American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) 2022 Devendra Lal Memorial Medal.
    • Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who is known for his work in Gangs of Wasseypur, Mirzapur, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and several other hit movies, has been roped in as the National Icon by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The actor was already a State Icon of Bihar to create awareness and encourage youth to participate in elections.

  • Adani Enterprises announces the establishment of two new subsidiaries- Adani Disruptive Ventures Limited (ADVL) and Alwar Alluvial Resources Limited (AARL).
  • Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the three-day long 'Digital India Conference of State IT Ministers' that concluded on October 3 announced that Rs. 26,000 crores has been approved to install 25,000 new towers in the next 500 days.
  • There will be no charge for RuPay credit card use on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for transactions up to Rs 2,000 in line with the RBI direction as per the recent NPCI Circular.
  • The Election Commission launched Metadata Junction, a year-long voter awareness program on All India Radio. A total of 52-episode programs of 15-minute duration each will be broadcast every Friday on Vividh Bharati stations, FM Rainbow, FM Gold, and the Primary channels of AIR.
