- The project is a collaboration of the SBI Foundation and Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation (HESCO), aiming to promote equitable economic and ecological development in 10 disaster-prone villages in the Joshimath Block of Chamoli District. SBI Foundation is the CSR arm of the State Bank Group.
- The project, which SBI General Insurance Company Limited is funding, will last for three years, until May 2025.
- The aim of this project is also to promote a variety of livelihoods, such as horticulture, ecotourism, bio-agriculture, agriculture, and environmental protection measures, in order to achieve the crucial balance.
- The state of Uttarakhand, which is ecologically vulnerable and prone to disasters, has increasingly been affected by the effects of climate change, including changing seasons, decreased snowfall, flash floods, and erratic rainfall.
