Current Context: The Gauhati High Court has developed the 'Bhoroxa' app for women's safety, which was launched by President Draupadi Murmu.

  • Women can use the app to send SOS messages with their location to emergency contacts in times of crisis, and also make a call by shaking their phone, without the need for internet connectivity to access emergency services.
  • The Bhoroxa app has several noteworthy features, including a helpline number (181) that women can call for immediate assistance during times of distress.
  • Additionally, the app provides information about different schemes designed to empower and protect women.
  • As a part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati High Court, the 'Bhoroxa' mobile app was launched.
  • The event also featured the release of a commemorative postage stamp on April 5 by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and the Assamese version of the book "Guwahati High Court: History and Heritage" by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
