DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence Inaugurated at IIT Hyderabad

Current Context: Development Organization (DRDO) Industry Academia Center of Excellence (DIA-CoE) was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad. DRDO Chairman, Dr Sameer V Kamath inaugurated the facility at the IIT-Hyderabad campus in Telangana.

• The Director of Défense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) stated that the defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre (DIA-CoE) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH) is the largest among the 15 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in the country.
• The DRDO team will collaborate with IIT-H to identify targeted projects in each domain and execute them within a span of 3-5 years.
• The research cell established by DRDO and IITH three years ago in 2020 has now been transformed into a Centre of Excellence.
