- On this scheme the Uttar Pradesh government will be spending an amount of Rs.400 crores.
- This scheme will come into effect from 01 April 2023.
- At the time of implementation of this scheme, a subsidy amount will be given on handloom weavers and also for installation of power loom. The subsidy amounts are 80% and 60% respectively.
- The advantage of this scheme is that, under this scheme all the handloom weavers will be provided with flat rate facility on the electricity bill.
- The power charges will be as follows:
- Power loom connection holders with 5 KW connections – Rs.400 for half horse power and 800 for one horse power.
- Rural Areas – Rs.300 – 600.
- Subsidy of Rs 700 per horsepower, maximum of Rs 9100 per month will be given to powerl oom connection holders with load above five kilowatts.
- Under Jhalkari Bai Kori Handloom and Power loom Development Scheme, weavers will be given a grant of Rs 50,000 and Rs 80,000 respectively.
