Google Pay in Partnership with NPCI Allows UPI Payments using RuPay credit cards

Current Context: Google Pay has partnered with the NPCI to allow UPI payments using RuPay credit cards. This is a new feature that was launched on May 23, 2023. It aims to provide more flexibility and choice to Google Pay users and boost the adoption of digital payments in India.

To use this feature, you need to link your RuPay credit card to Google Pay by following these steps:

• Go to your profile settings on Google Pay and select the “RuPay credit card on UPI” option.
• Choose the bank that issued your RuPay credit card.
• Set a unique UPI PIN by entering the last six digits of your card number, expiry date, and an OTP from your bank.
• Once the setup is complete, you can make UPI payments with your RuPay credit card by entering the UPI PIN you set.
• You can also link your RuPay credit card on UPI via other apps such as BHIM, Mobikwik, PhonePe, and Paytm.
