National:
  • The Ministry of Ayush and WHO signed a pact in New Delhi (Sept 2025) to co‑host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine. The summit will be held 17–19 Dec 2025 on the theme “Restoring balance for people and planet: The science and practice of well‑being.” It will bring together global experts, policymakers, and researchers to advance evidence‑based traditional medicine.

  • India remains Nepal’s largest trading partner and top FDI source, with bilateral trade crossing USD 7 bn. The 1950 Treaty of Trade ensures free movement of goods and people. At the Jan 2025 IGC meeting in Kathmandu, both sides reviewed trade, transit, and connectivity projects. India continues to supply essential commodities and invest in Nepal’s infrastructure.
  • On 22 Sept 2024, the Mankidia community of Mayurbhanj, Odisha, became the 6th Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) to secure habitat rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. The semi‑nomadic rope‑making tribe now has legal rights over its customary forest habitat for livelihood and cultural practices.
Banking:
  • On 23 Sept 2025, Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh inaugurated India’s first Central Tissue Bank and a cashless ‘V‑Office’ of the Delhi Dental Council at MAIDS, New Delhi. The Tissue Bank will provide bone and tissue grafts, reducing dependence on imports and cutting treatment costs by 25–30%. It functions under the THOTA Act, 1994, ensuring proper donor consent, screening, and preservation.
Economy:
  • India’s HSBC Flash Composite PMI slipped to 61.9 in September from 63.2 in August, though still well above the 50 expansion mark. Both manufacturing (58.5) and services (61.6) eased, reflecting softer momentum. Export orders weakened due to US tariffs, but domestic demand stayed resilient with GST cuts aiding growth.
MoUs:
  • APOA (Asian Palm Oil Alliance), CPOPC (Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries) and SNAL (Solidaridad Network Asia Limited) signed a 3‑year MoU in Mumbai on 24 Sept 2025. The aim is to build a sustainable, traceable, smallholder‑inclusive palm oil value chain in South Asia. It aligns ISPO, MSPO, IPOS frameworks and adopts NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) principles.
  • On 19 Sept 2025, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC), Kuwait signed an MoU in Mumbai. It was signed by Abhyuday Jindal (ICC President) and Kaizar T. Shakir (IBPC Kuwait Chairman). The pact aims to boost trade, investment, technology transfer, and joint business delegations.
  • Swan Defence (SDHI) and Royal IHC (Netherlands) signed an MoU on 24 Sept 2025 at Pipavav, Gujarat. The pact covers design, building & retrofitting of Offshore Construction, Pipe Laying, and Multi‑Purpose Offshore Support Vessels. It leverages Royal IHC’s design expertise and SDHI’s infrastructure (India’s largest dry dock).
  • On 24 Sept 2025, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India signed a 5‑year MoU to boost semiconductor education & research. It includes a Graduate Pathway Programme with AIT, VIT & Taipei Tech (National Taipei University of Technology), plus faculty exchanges, dual degrees & Centres of Excellence. The partnership aims to train 10,000 engineers and support the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
  • On 25 September 2025 in Mumbai, the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Ltd (NUCFDC) signed an MoU with the Common Services Centres Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC SPV). The aim is to digitally transform Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) by providing them with secure, scalable, and compliant digital infrastructure.
  • On 25 Sept 2025, Seatrium Offshore Technology (SOT), Singapore signed an MoU with Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL), India to boost offshore cooperation in Asia. The pact focuses on MRO projects, joint marketing, and technology sharing. It combines SOT’s engineering strengths with CSL’s infrastructure. The partnership supports India’s energy transition and offshore growth.
Science & Technology:
  • On 24 Sept 2025, NASA & NOAA launched IMAP, SWFO‑L1, and Carruthers Geocorona Observatory aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center. IMAP will map the heliosphere, SWFO‑L1 will provide real‑time space weather alerts, and Carruthers will study Earth’s exosphere. All three are headed to Lagrange Point‑1 to improve space weather prediction and planetary protection.

Defence:
  • The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a ₹62,370 crore deal with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A jets (68 fighters + 29 trainers). Deliveries will run from 2027–28 to 2033–34. The jets feature Uttam Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar, Swayam Raksha Kavach self‑protection suite, and 64%+ indigenous content.
Govt.Schemes:
  • Telangana’s WE Hub launched the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme in Sept 2025 with World Bank & MSME Ministry support. The first cohort includes 45 women‑led MSMEs from 13 districts. The programme offers training, mentorship, finance, and market access till 2027.
  • The Tripura government launched the CM‑SATH Scheme on 24 Sept 2025 under CM Manik Saha.
