  • Afghanistan's Independent Election Commission (IEC) has declared that Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani appeared to have won a second term on December 22 by winning 50.64 % of the vote in preliminary polling results.
  • Kolar District Hospital in Karnataka has been conferred with the Ayushman Bharat Award by the Government of India.
  • India's shuttler Maisnam Meiraba Luwang has won the Men's singles Bangladesh Junior International Badminton Series 2019 held in Dhaka.

  • Indian squash player Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu clinched the men's title in the third leg of the HCL-SRFI India Tour Squash Tournament in Mumbai. Hana Ramadan of Egypt won the women's crown in the tournament.
  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced waiver of farm loans up to 2 lakh rupees sanctioned till 30 September 2019. The Mahatma Phule Shetkari Karja Mukti Yojana (Mahatma Phule Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme) was also announced by the Chief Minister. The state government is also starting a Shiv Bhojan scheme which will offer a meal worth 10 Rupees on an experimental basis in 50 centres across the state.
