  • The first phase of the world’s second-largest Muslim congregation after Haj began in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 10th Jan 2020. The congregation is called Bishwa Ijtema and will end on 12th Jan 2020. The Bishwa Ijtema has been taking place on the Turag riverbank in Tongi near Dhaka since 1967.
  • Gymnasts Priyanka Dasgupta and Jatin Kumar Kanojia won gold medals at day one of Khelo India Youth Games 2020 in Guwahati. Priyanka Dasgupta clinched the three gold medals and girls Under-17 all-around crown in gymnastics. Jatin Kumar Kanojia of Uttar Pradesh also claimed the boys’ Under-17 all-around crown with two gold medals.
