- National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to waive off the FASTag cost of Rs 100 for NHAI FASTag between 15th to 29th Feb 2020. The decision is aimed at further increasing digital collection of user fee through FASTag at NH fee plazas.
- President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will arrive in New Delhi on 13th Feb 2020 on a four day visit to India. This will be President Marcelo’s first visit to India. The last visit by a President of Portugal to India was in 2007.
- The Union Cabinet has approved the Pesticide Management Bill 2020 on 13th Feb 2020 that aims to promote organic pesticides in the country. The cabinet also passed the Major Ports Authority Bill and the Direct Tax Vivad se Vishwas Bill, 2020.
- The Union Cabinet has given in-principle approval for capital infusion of Rs 2,500 crore in three Public Sector General Insurance Companies on 13th Feb 2020 including Oriental Insurance Company Limited, National Insurance Company Limited and United India Insurance Company Limited.
- A new educational institution building was inaugurated in a remote area of Gulmi district in Nepal on 12th Feb 2020, which is constructed with Government of India financial assistance of Rs 2.5 crore for students from the economically weaker sections. The building is part of the Chandrakot Campus under the Tribhuvan University.
