  • As per the statement issued by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Rajya Sabha, the number of billionaires in India is 136 in FY21. It has dropped from 141 in FY20. The count is based on the gross total income declared in the income tax returns.
  • ‘Bungus Awaam Mela’: It was inaugurated by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to celebrate 75th Independence Day at Bungus valley in the Kupwara district of Kashmir.
  • The 15th round of Foreign Office Consultation between India and Singapore was held in a virtual manner to strengthen the economic development, grant easy travel restrictions and resume people-to-people contacts. The city properly treated the wastewater released from households, commercial areas to a satisfactory level before releasing the treated wastewater to the environment.
  • The NABARD has approved a loan of Rs 188.81 crore to the Government of Goa under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). The loan was approved to construct a super specialty block in Bambolim and enhancement of solid waste management and treatment plan at Saligao.
